Obama's Recess Appointment to the National Labor Relations Board to Be Heard by the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court announced today they will be hearing arguments on the case of Noel Canning v. NLRB (12-1115) later this year or early next year. The D.C. Federal Appeals Court ruled Obama violated his authority making recess appointment to the board while Congress was in secession. The President defends his appointments as legal citing Congress stall tactics impede the function of government. "When Congress refuses to act and as a result hurts our economy and puts people at risk, I have an obligation as president to do what I can without them," the president said in January 2012. "I will not stand by while a minority in the Senate puts party ideology ahead of the people they were elected to serve."   read more here
