Volkswagen Super Bowl Ad Stirring Controversy (Video)


Jamaica is a popular vacation destination for those looking to relax. People love the Jamaican accent and the overall positive attitude of her people. Trying to capitalize on that sentiment in their new Volkswagen Super Bowl ad has drawn some very direct criticism. Some find the commercial amusing while others are calling it racist. The ad stars a white male from Minnesota who is very laid back juxtaposed among his “stuffy” co-workers and boss. He keeps encouraging them to “smile.” His mood is facilitated by his car, a Volkswagen Beetle.
